It is of some interest to note that in the

petition by Lee Myson to the overror of Macau protecting against not obtaining the Monopoly again, it was stated that person uk Poh" (wife of the Governor) had

received from the You Shing Company $7,000 for handing

the Honopoly over to the new Company.

There is

however nothing to show to whom the expression "The

Beautiful One" refers.

Whenever a shipment of opium arrived

presents were made to the Captain and other officers,

and to overment launch crews.

These must have

been for the purpose of ensuring silence.

There is one payment for which no explanation

can be discovered, under date 5/14/26 a payment of

$60,000 is made either to or for Trench soldiers.
